Wilcox County has officially been named as a host location for the Alabama Humanities Foundation traveling exhibit in honor of the bicentennial celebration of the State of Alabama. Wilcox County will be hosting the exhibit at the Gees Bend Ferry Terminal (1001 Earl Hilliard Road Camden, AL 36726) for a total of two weeks, beginning April 1st and ending April 14th. The exhibit will feature 1,000 square feet of 8 x 8-foot panel collages and interactive tablets bringing our state’s 200-year history to life. Wilcox County will also feature its own local exhibit.
Making Alabama: A Bicentennial Traveling Exhibit is a statewide celebration of 200 years of statehood presented by Alabama Humanities Foundation in partnership with Alabama Department of Archives and History and Alabama Bicentennial Commission.
The local exhibit portion of Making Alabama is our community’s opportunity to put our signature on this landmark statewide project. This is a wonderful time for everyone in our community to come together and celebrate our history.
