SUMMARY:TCNB 7th Annual Run for A Cure
DESCRIPTION:Cancer has touched each and every one of us. This cause is very dear to our hearts at TCNB. Every step we take will help the American Cancer Society save lives. Please join in our battle to fight this terrible disease. All proceeds will be donated to Relay for Life. \nRUN FOR A CURE RACE OPTIONS \n1) Our main event is the 5K (3.1 miles). This race is open to all age groups. The pace is entirely up to the participant. We welcome competitive runners\, walkers\, strollers\, etc.… This race does not include the color bombs. T-shirts are included in the race entry fee of $25.00 but are only guaranteed to participants signed up by March 23rd. Late registration will begin March 24th. Late registration is $30 and the shirt is not guaranteed. This race will begin promptly at 9am. You will need to arrive and sign in no later than 8:30am. Awards (1st-3rd) will be given out in each division. \n2) Our 2nd event is the 1-Mile Rainbow Fun Run. This race is open to all age groups. This race INCLUDES color bombs. T-shirts are included in the race entry fee of $20.00 but are only guaranteed to participants signed up by March 23rd. Again\, late registration will begin March 24th. Late registration is $25 and the shirt is not guaranteed. We strongly recommend that you wear a solid white t-shirt to this race. (We cannot guarantee the color bombs will not stain clothing). Each year we host the event as a way to attract tourists to Downtown Camden and provide entertainment for all. This year the event will be held April 21\, 2018 beginning at 9am Saturday in Downtown Camden\, Alabama. On Saturday morning beginning at 9:00am the streets of Camden will come alive with a street festival\, BBQ Cook-off competition and also\, this year—Entertainment for this day will be provided by local musicians who will be performing ranging from every genre! Along with the BBQ Cook-Off\, TCNB will be hosting their annual “Run for A Cure” and “Fun Run. Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center will also be hosting their annual “Hog Wild for Art” Festival. Downtown Camden will be full of exciting things! We have chartered a CoachWays Bus to go from Camden to Montgomery to tour both of these new museums. $25/adult\, $22/student & senior\, $15/child 6 and under accompanied by an adult – this price includes transportation\, sack lunch\, entrance to both venues. Some of the cost of this educational event has been subsidized by donations from Friends of the Kelly Family to keep costs low. You must sign up and pay in advance using the event flyer – cut along the dotted line and submit with payment as instructed\, mail to the P.O.Box on the form. Earliest postmarks will get first seats. The bus holds 49 passengers. Seats will fill up fast.

Each year we host the event as a way to attract tourists to Downtown Camden and provide entertainment for all. This year the event will be held April 26 from 5-9pm\, and April 27\, 2019 from 9am-2pm in Downtown Camden\, Alabama. On Saturday morning\, beginning at 9:00am\, the streets of Camden will come alive with a street festival\, BBQ Cook-off competition and entertainment provided by a variety of musicians performing a variety of genre! Along with the BBQ Cook Off\, Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center will be hosting their annual “Hog Wild for Art” Festival\, complete with games\, hands-on art activities\, demonstrating artists\, face painting\, and more. A new addition to this year’s events is an Antique Car Show\, and Wilcox ArtWorks’s Juried Art Show. SUMMARY:Freedom Quilting Bee at the 55th Bridge Jubilee Event in Selma
DESCRIPTION:The Friends of the Freedom Quilting Bee (FQB) will reintroduce itself to the Black Belt Community in its participation at the 55th Bridge Jubilee Event in Selma AL.  At its booth at the Bridge Jubilee\, the FQB will display and sell the quilt product of registered artists.  We will have on hand quilts\, pot holders\, bags and other items for sale directly from the artists who made them.  Commemorate the 55th Bridge Jubilee with a FQB T-shirt and mug which will also be for sale on the days of the event. \nThe FQB history began in 1966 as a Women’s Co-op in Alberta AL. The women of the FQB were some of the most storied quilters of the area and of the time.  This is the opportunity to learn about this group of formidable women and to purchase quilted items in the tradition of their work.  With the exception of one\, the original members of the FQB have passed on.  This reintroduction of the FQB will be an opportunity to honor these women and continue the tradition of fellowship\, artistry and education for and about the community. \nWe look forward to seeing you there – February 29 and March 1\, 2020!!
