SUMMARY:Gee's Bend Airing of the Quilts Festival
DESCRIPTION: ‘Airing of the Quilts’ follows a tradition whereby families’ handmade quilts are hung out to air in the sun for a day or so prior to their being used for the coming winter months\, creating a vibrant and colorful atmosphere throughout the community. \nThis fall\, the Gee’s Bend and Alberta communities are inviting visitors for this festive moment\, providing an opportunity to meet the local quilters and community members\, appreciate and purchase handmade works\, and to experience what makes these communities so special \nThe Freedom Quilting Bee Legacy is partnering with Nest and Souls Grown Deep to hold the First Annual Airing of the Quilts Festival on Saturday October 8\, 2022.  The festival is being designed to take place at multiple locations on County Road 29.\n\nThe venues are: 1. The Alberta Marketplace at 2756\, 2. The Original FQB Building at 4295\, 3. The Gee’s Bend Ferry Terminal\, 4. The Gee’s Bend Town Square\, 5. The Boykin Mercantile (across from the post office).  And ANYONE who wishes to hang their quilts on the line and sell them in their yards will be encouraged to do that!!\n  \n\n\n	Related
