Adults: $20 Youth: $10 \nDivisions:\n-Adult\n-Women\n-Youth\n-Bow \nIncludes Big Doe Contests and $250 Random Drawings as well. \nMore information to come. \nClick the link to follow on social media. \nBig Buck Contest Rules:\n– Must comply with all State of Alabama whitetail deer\ngame regulations.\n– Must be free range whitetail deer.\n– Must be harvested in Butler\, Clarke\, Dallas\, Lowndes\,\nMarengo\, Monroe\, and Wilcox counties.\n– Antlers must be attached to the head when turned in.\n– All deer will be scored on a gross Boone and Crocket\nscoring system\, all scores are final\, and no scores will be\nreleased until the end of the season.\n– You cannot have your deer scored by any outside parties\nuntil contest is over.\n– A ticket must be purchased before each deer is killed.\n– The winners of the contest will be required to take a lie\ndetector test.\n– All deer must be turned in by February 11th\, 2023.\n– Bow kills are eligible for adult or youth prizes.\n– Only eligible to place in one Big Buck category.\n– If you do not comply with these rules you will be\nautomatically disqualified.\n– Each deer turned in for the contest must be turned in at\nVenison\, LLC:\n150 HWY 41 N\, Camden\, AL 36726 \n  \nBig Doe Rules:\nThere will be three doe contests:\nDecember 3rd – 4th\nJanuary 7th – 8th\nFebruary 4th-5th\n– To be eligible for these contests you must have purchased a\nBig Buck Ticket before harvesting the doe\, and you must\nhave your ticket present to turn in your doe.\n– You will not have to turn in your Big Buck Ticket\, and you\nwill be able to use it for any buck that you turn in.\n– Weigh-in time From 9:00am – 12:00pm and\n5:00pm – 8:00pm at Venison\, LLC. \n\n\n	Related

DESCRIPTION:The Friends of the Freedom Quilting Bee (FQB) will reintroduce itself to the Black Belt Community in its participation at the 55th Bridge Jubilee Event in Selma AL.  At its booth at the Bridge Jubilee\, the FQB will display and sell the quilt product of registered artists.  We will have on hand quilts\, pot holders\, bags and other items for sale directly from the artists who made them.  Commemorate the 55th Bridge Jubilee with a FQB T-shirt and mug which will also be for sale on the days of the event. \nThe FQB history began in 1966 as a Women’s Co-op in Alberta AL. The women of the FQB were some of the most storied quilters of the area and of the time.  This is the opportunity to learn about this group of formidable women and to purchase quilted items in the tradition of their work.  With the exception of one\, the original members of the FQB have passed on.  This reintroduction of the FQB will be an opportunity to honor these women and continue the tradition of fellowship\, artistry and education for and about the community. \nWe look forward to seeing you there – February 29 and March 1\, 2020!! \n\n\n	Related

DESCRIPTION:The play “Gees Bend” was written by Elyzabeth Gregory Wilder\, and debuted to sold-out audiences at the Alabama Shakespeare Theatre several years ago. It has been performed by various theatre groups throughout the US. The play is based on the life of Gees Bend Quilter\, Ms. Mary Lee Bendolph. It tells her story of unbelievable hardship and the struggle in this isolated Wilcox County Hamlet. The main character\, Sadie\, inspired by a visit to Gees Bend by Dr. Martin Luther King\, joins in the local Civil Rights movement\, bravely registering to vote\, and drinking from the “White’s Only” water fountain. She becomes a part of the Freedom Quilting Bee\, and later sees her own quilts exhibited in art galleries throughout the nation. The Gees Bend Ferry and its role in the lives of the Gees Beenders is woven throughout this inspiring story. The play “Gees Bend”\, is performed by local Gees Bend actors. They have performed the play on 9 previous occasions\, in Gees Bend to large audiences\, in Camden as part of the Patchwork Arts Festival\, and most recently\, at the Hilltop Montesori School in Vermont\, where all 3 performances were to sold-out crowds. If there you aren’t a hunter and fishing is your expertise\, you can also compete for the biggest Crappie!
